We are now looking for an ambitious and driven Head of Accounting to take the lead in Gothenburg – and play a key role in shaping the future our client’s exciting journey.

In this key leadership position, you will be responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and maintaining robust internal controls, while also driving the company’s growth through sharp financial insights. By combining your deep accounting knowledge with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, you will safeguard the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of all financial processes.

Assignment Overview

• Financial Reporting: Deliver precise and timely financial reports in line with GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Internal Controls: Design, oversee, and enhance control frameworks to protect data accuracy and reliability.
• Team Leadership: Lead and coach the accounting team, promoting accountability and high performance.
• Audit Management: Serve as the main contact for external auditors, ensuring efficient audit execution.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with stakeholders to align financial planning with business objectives.
• Risk Oversight: Identify potential risks, recommend mitigation plans, and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Process Improvement: Lead initiatives for process mapping and optimization to create efficient workflows.
• Shared Services Partnership: Cooperate with the Shared Services Centre to boost quality and efficiency.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish and track KPIs to evaluate and improve departmental performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA, CMA, or similar certification is a plus.
• Broad expertise in accounting and financial management, covering AR, AP, Treasury, Tax, Group Reporting, and Consolidation.
• Proven track record in multinational companies, with at least Europe-wide exposure.
• At least 8 years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role (10+ years total preferred).
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS and professional accounting standards.
• Practical, detail-focused professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated experience in internal controls and process design/improvement.
• Skilled in project management, particularly within complex, global environments.
• Resilient and committed, with the flexibility to handle challenges and work extended hours when required.
• Strong leadership qualities with excellent stakeholder management; capable of motivating and developing teams.
• Previous collaboration with Shared Services Centres.
• Proficient in financial systems and digital tools.
• Strategic thinker, adaptable to fast-moving and changing conditions.
