About the Role as Senior Accountant

As an Accountant at Abion, you will join a team of six coworkers based in Gothenburg. Your main focus will be on day-to-day accounting, monthly and annual closings and produce and secure financial statements. You will collaborate closely with team members as well as other part of the global group, helping to co-lead, unlock their potential and contribute to continuous development.

You will also participate in system-related projects and process improvements. Abion currently operates around 20 legal entities across different countries. In this role you will work primarily with Swedish entities but also contribute to the international team.

Key Responsibilities

• Day-to-day accounting
• Monthly and annual closings, financial statements
• Manage contact with external parties, including service partners, auditors, and authorities
• Handle tax and VAT matters and filings
• Support team members and contribute to continuous development
• Participate in process improvements and system projects

About you

We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in qualified accounting who feels highly confident in the fundamentals of accounting. Ideally, you have experience working in an international group and possess strong technical accounting skills. You are solution-oriented and enjoy both working operationally and developing structures and processes.

As a person, you are confident, analytical, structured and have leadership qualities. You thrive in a changing environment and view change as an opportunity to contribute to improvements. You are communicative and pedagogical, explaining numbers and variances to the business in a clear and understandable way. Problem-solving and developing ways of working are what motivates you.

Key Requirements

• Academic degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Several years of experience in qualified accounting, working both operationally and in a development-oriented capacity
• Leadership qualities
• Confident, solution-oriented, communicative, and structured
• Strong systems skills and an interest in digitalization/automation of financial processes
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken

Nice to Have

• Experience in process improvement, system implementation, or automation
• Previous experience working in an international environment
• Experience working in a fast-changing and growing organization
